Oxytetracycline hydrochloride 800 mg per gram of powder.
Antibacterial for systemic use (Tetracyclines).
Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is active against a large number of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, some Mycoplasmas, Chlamydiae, Rickettsiae and protozoa. It is active against respiratory pathogens, such as: Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae, Truerperella (Corynebacterium, Actinomyces) pyogenes, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Haemophilus somnus, Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, Mycoplasma synoviae, Mycoplasma hyorhinis, Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica and Streptococcus suis.
For the metaphylaxis and treatment of infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to oxytetracycline.
Dosage, route and method of administration
Administration with the drinking water, milk or feed:
- Calves: 20 to 40 mg oxytetracycline HCl per kg BW or 1 to 2 grams of Oxytem 80% powder per 40 kg BW per day for 3 to 5 days, to be divided over two administration per day.
- Poultry: 70 to 100 mg oxytetracycline HCl per kg BW per day for 3 to 7 days.
- Pigs: 15 to 30 mg oxytetracycline HCl per kg BW per day for 5 to 7 days.
Bags or boxes with 500, 1000 or 2000 gram of powder.
